Dear parents,<\/p>\n

We understand that recent changes in education legislation may raise questions and concerns. We would like to inform you about the main changes implemented in 2024 and how they affect your children’s educational journey. <\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Emergency Ordinance no. 95\/2024:<\/b> This ordinance made amendments and additions to the Pre-University Education Law no. 198\/2023 and the Higher Education Law no. 199\/2023. Among other things, it established new criteria for recognizing foreign doctoral supervisors and regulated scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate studies abroad.

  2. New Framework Regulation for the organization and functioning of pre-university education units (ROFUIP):<\/b> Starting with the 2024-2025 school year, a new ROFUIP, which sets out how schools are organized and run, has entered into force. It includes provisions on the rights and obligations of pupils and teachers, the structure of the school year and other administrative aspects.

  3. Introducing the compulsory educational portfolio:<\/b> From the school year 2024-2025, the pupil’s educational portfolio becomes compulsory for the pre-school generation entering the middle school and for pupils entering the preparatory grade. This tool documents and assesses a student’s academic, personal and social progress, facilitating the identification of support needs and school or career guidance.

  4. Disciplinary procedures updated:<\/b> Under the new regulations, students who disrupt class can be moved to another room where they will be supervised by another teacher until the end of the class. In addition, a mark for conduct will be awarded at the end of each module and may be deducted if a significant number of unexcused absences accumulate.

  5. Approval of teachers’ professional profile and standards:<\/b> by Order no. 7.386 of November 11, 2024, the professional profile and standards of pre-university teachers were approved, detailed by career stages and educational levels.<\/a>

  6. Changes in school scholarships:<\/b> the resilience scholarship has been introduced for the top 30% of students in a class with an annual average between 7.00 and 9.50. Students with GPAs above 9.50 will receive merit scholarships. Other scholarships include the Olympic Excellence Scholarship, the Social Scholarship, the Underage Mothers Scholarship and the Technology Scholarship.

  7. Feedback from students to teachers:<\/b> Students have the right to give feedback to teachers at the end of each school year, using standardized forms. This measure aims to improve the quality of education and encourages open communication between pupils and teachers.

  8. Digital skills for students:<\/b> The digital competences to be acquired by pupils by the end of secondary school, adapted to the level and cycle of education completed, have been established. These include the effective use of digital technologies in different school and professional contexts.
